This issue focuses on Finishing Touches. Finishing touches – they make the difference in a home, whether it creates a haven or a pit. And often, they can make the difference of whether you can sell a home or not. Customized storage spaces for closets, home offices, garages, etc are a finishing touch some consider a must to contain your “stuff.” On the outside, another finishing touch that can help you enjoy your home more (or help you sell it) is a beautiful yard, but in this day and age, how can we create that green, gorgeous, oasis without hurting our environment? Read the eco-friendly answer in this issue.
Builders, Realtors, and even homeowners looking to build will want to read the article on national building trends; it features anticipated construction trends, such as choosing 2-story vs. ranch, square footage tendencies, or whether to keep or “lose” the living room, etc. On the flip side is an article by Thompson Remodeling which features changes made to older homes due to previous forecasts that no longer work for our current lifestyles. He describes how to remodel homes to make them more up-to-date and cool, as well as more sellable.
Check out the ‘befores’ and ‘afters’ of this year’s Showcase of Remodeled Homes. And if you are in the market for a new home, condo or building site, there are over 130 entries featured in the Showcase in the back of the magazine. As always, please remember to let our advertisers know you saw them in the New Homes Guide.
Enjoy!
